Creative Industries training for African Canadians – After a successfully executed pilot project in the spring of 2021, the “Black Above the Line” technical training program introduces participants to the filmmaking process, with a focus on production. Participants will learn both the theory and practice of using and operating the equipment used by film professionals during each stage of filmmaking, or one of the other departments available.
By completion, participants will not only understand how a film is made, they will also learn how to work together as a team to complete a film and capture the director’s vision on film, by way of comprehensive technical training.
The program lengths vary between each program, followed by hands-on content creation. The content created by participants will then be licensed to appear on A Cultural Explosion TV (ACE TV), available through Roku, Apple TV, and Fire TV.
Program Duration: April to September 2025.
