College & University Cohort

The PREP Academy’s College and University Cohort program supports high school students in navigating their entry into and throughout their college and university experience.

Our graduating grade 12 students require support to access information, navigate processes and foster a new network of relationships and our College and University Student Success Coach continues student’s connection to helps students in the following ways:

• Working 1:1 to help students make decisions, solve problems, and meet goals that maximize their experience and success
• Help students define and achieve personal, academic and career goals through developing individualized student pathway plans
• Follow up with students to ensure they are on track to academic success based on established success plans, analyze student needs to determine appropriate interventions
• Make informed referrals to appropriate on and off campus supports (Academic Advisors, Black Student Support Advisors, Writing Centres, Health and Wellness, etc.)
• Plan and deliver events, activities and interactions that support student growth, engagement and leadership, including professional development and networking opportunities
• Connection to employers to experience job shadowing, mentorship and volunteer opportunities
