The 2023 Peace Scholarship Award is presented by The PREP Academy and The Peace Tournament to African Nova Scotian students who are contributing to a peaceful society and are committed to enhancing our communities. This award is open to high school and post secondary students who are entering any program or field of study at a recognized college or university in September 2023.
Awards Available
- 2 x $1,500 for high school students
- 2 x $1,500 for post-secondary students
Scholarships will be sent directly to the students school and can be used towards tuition, books, or related fees.
Eligibility
- Be a grade 12 student entering college or university in September 2023
- OR; Be a current college or university student returning to school in September 2023
- This scholarship is open to any program in any field of study, at any school
- Identify as African Nova Scotian and have family ties to historic ANS communities
- Students must contribute to a peaceful society and be committed to enhancing our communities

Application Information
Deadline: Sunday, August 6th 2023 at 11:59pm ADT
Once you complete this Google application form, students must email the following documents to scholarships@theprepacademy.ca
- College or university acceptance letter
- Confirmation of enrolment
*Confirmation of enrolment is the only document required for postsecondary students
Award winners will be offered complimentary tickets to attend The Peace Tournament's championship game on Sunday, August 27th, at Saint Mary's University at 3:00pm for the scholarship award presentation. Students must attend the award presentation, or have an immediate family member accept on their behalf if they are away for school.
