This award celebrates Black youth across Canada, ages 15–24, who are showing leadership and making a real impact in their schools, communities, or in the areas they care about most.

Community Impact & Leadership (High Priority)

Vision & Future Impact (Moderate Priority)
✔️ Your goals and how you hope to keep making change going forward.

✔️ How clearly and honestly you share your experiences. There’s no “perfect answer,” just your truth.

How Your Application Will Be Assessed

Applications for the Union United National Black Youth Award (UUNBYA) are reviewed with care and attention to the full picture of who you are and the impact you’re making.

We’re especially interested in youth who are actively creating change in their communities and standing up for anti-racism, equity, and human rights.
