Valued at $2,500.00 these scholarships are available to African Nova Scotian(Black) students who have successfully completed grade 12 in theNova Scotia school system and who enroll full-time in a recognized university degree program.This award is also available to second, third, and fourth year students

Eligibility

Requirements (review the application form for full details):

  • applicant must be a Black African Nova Scotian student
  • applicant must be enrolled as full time student in a recognized university degree (undergraduate) program
  • applicant must be a graduate of the Nova Scotia school system
  • applicant must have demonstrated leadership qualities through participation in community affairs, student activities or athletics

Submission and Application Details

Additional Information:

  • this award is also available to second, third and fourth year university students who have successfully completed their first, second and/or third year and remain as a full-time student in their subsequent year of study in their undergraduate degree
  • Fourth year funding was introduced in 2018-19 and is not retroactive
  • students must submit an application each year to be considered for award
  • awards for second, third and fourth year students are based on satisfactory academic standing
