The Lt(N) Andrew Franklyn Webster Scholarship was established in 2014 to honour the late naval officer who passed away while serving on HMCS Toronto. Andrew was a graduate of Dartmouth High School, and the Royal Military College, and always spoke fondly of his time at Dartmouth High.
The intent of this annual scholarship is to grant $2,000 to a graduate of Dartmouth High who embodies Andrew’s qualities as an all-around student who enjoyed academics, sports and friends. The scholarship will be awarded to a student selected by the Dartmouth High scholarship committee planning to attend a post-secondary university or technical college accredited by the Government of Canada.
Eligibility
As a graduating student of Dartmouth High:
a. Academic Achievement: 25%. The student must demonstrate a level of academic achievement required to be selected for his post-secondary course of studies.
b. Extracurricular Activities: 25%. The student must be an active participant in school sports, clubs and student council, and volunteer activities.
c. Financial Need: 25%. The student must demonstrate a need for financial support to attend post-secondary education.
d. Support of Fellow Students: 25%. The student must must be friendly, compassionate, and caring to his/her fellow students.

The scholarship will be awarded once the Community Foundation of Nova Scotia has received proof of registration and attendance at a post-secondary institution.
