Media Training & Mentorship for Black Youth in HRM

The Canadian Association of Black Journalists(CSBJ) is pleased to announce the 2022 edition of J-School Noire, a virtual media training and mentorship program geared towards Black Canadian youth.

This free, two-day workshop will be held during Black History Month in Halifax, Ottawa, The GTA and Western Canada, featuring some of Canada’s best-known media personalities. It’s a chance for Black high school and junior high-school students to learn from top media pros and build their storytelling skills.

Students will learn key skills, including:

  • Hands-on Shooting
  • Editing
  • Podcasting
  • Writing
  • Interviewing

And much more!

Once students have completed J-School Noire, the CABJ will pair them with a senior journalist for yearlong mentoring as they begin their journey towards media careers.
