Join PREP for a free online workshop about being a Student-Athlete! During this session we'll discuss student-athlete expectations, the recruiting process, what to look for in a program, how to maintain a healthy balance and more!

This workshop is opened to all African Nova Scotian students/parents and parents/guardians of African Nova Scotian students on Wednesday, March 27th from 7:00pm-8:00pm.

2023 College and University Expo

PREP's College & University Expo is a 1-day event bringing together grade 12 African Nova Scotian students from across the province to engage with colleges and universities across Atlantic Canada. The Expo enhances and increases the experience and representation of Black students and Black support on campus. This event allows students and parents to explore program options, meet and engage with campus staff and apply to be considered for early admissions for FREE!

What schools will be there? NSCC, DAL/Kings, SMU, StFX, Acadia, MSVU, NSCAD, CBU, Holland College, Mount Allison, and St Thomas!

PREP is inviting all African Nova Scotian parents/guardians and students to our Parent & Student Orientation Night at Digby Regional High School on Friday September 29th from 6:00pm-7:30pm.

Food and refreshments will be provided: sandwiches, wraps, veggie trays, etc. Household family members are welcome to attend, including younger siblings. Please indicate the number of people who will be attending from your family in your registration.

If you are unable to attend the in-person Orientation Night, we have an option to sign up for an Online Orientation Night. To register for the online event, please click here.

St. Francis Xavier University Campus Tour

The PREP Academy and St. Francis Xavier University are excited to invite African Nova Scotian high school students, along with one parent or guardian to participate in a university campus tour!

Participants will be picked up from one of the pick-up locations and brought to St. FX by the university's coach bus! Students and parents/guardians will have the opportunity to spend the day touring campus, meeting faculty and current  students, meeting with Black student supports on campus, and learning more about the opportunities at St.FX University. Lunch and transportation is provided. Unfortunately, because of this we are only able to bring a select number of students. This tour will be first come first serve.

The PREP Academy will be hosting a free interactive scholarship preparation community workshop to show African Nova Scotian students, parents/guardians and family members how to prepare and apply for postsecondary scholarships and bursaries. If you are in high school or grade 9, this workshop is especially for you! Each student will receive a sample scholarship preparation package to take home.
