The Women Innovating in Nova Scotia (WINS) Bursary

High School Post-secondary

Open to full and part-time students who will be enrolled in any year of study of eligible programs at any campus where the eligible programs are offered. This award is renewable for students in multi-year programs (based on successful completion of first year in program and remaining in good academic standing).

Award distribution:

Two (2) awards will be designated to applicants self-identifying as Mi’kmaw/Indigenous
Two (2) awards will be designated to applicants self-identifying as a Students with Disabilities who are registered with NSCC
Two (2) awards will be designated to applicants self-identifying as African Nova Scotian or Black
Two (2) awards will be designated to new Canadians

Eligibility

Application assessment will consider:

  • Financial need
  • Passion for learning and pursuit of a career in sciences, trades, technology
  • Demonstrated willingness to make a transformational change in their lives, making a life changing decision, overcoming obstacles and turning their lives in a new direction through education
  • Good academic standing
  • Self-identification: female
