The Jeannine Deveau Scholarship is valued at $15,000 ($3,000 per year, renewable for 5 years). Candidates who self-identify as Mi’kmaq, Wolastoqiyik, or African Nova Scotian in this application will be considered for scholarships funded under the Jeannine Deveau Equity Endowment Fund.
Eligibility
eligible candidates are people who are identified as Mi'kmaq by the Mi'kmaq communities of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI or Wolastoqiyik communities of New Brunswick or people who identify themselves as Indigenous Black Nova Scotian. Indigenous Black Nova Scotian's are individuals who are Black and (a) were born and raised in Nova Scotia or (b) who have a substantial connection with a historically Black community in Nova Scotia.
To be considered for a Jeannine Deveau scholarship applicants must:
- Apply to StFX admissions or currently be enrolled in courses at St. Francis Xavier University.
- Submit transcript(s) for admissions, this could be final first semester Grade 12 marks or final Grade 12 marks.
Submission and Application Details
Once applications have been reviewed by the Jeannine Deveau Scholarship Committee, recipients will be advised of a Jeannine Deveau Scholarship via email.
